Re: LAMA SA-315B
Lately,
I'm on vacation and feel's very good,,, lol...

I been away for a while,,, sorry,, he,he,,,
been budy working my new deatil's LAMA and making some great scale fixing.

Yesterday,
have done a new pair set of skies made of the same size and shape as my old ones. i will keep my old skies and will make a major color scheme for them.

My new skies are on top skies made of grill material and
and bottom made of a thin alumi plate. Then painted them all yellow. they look superb and I have apply some crossing black lines that is use for the feet to not slip. I did

also use
some real metal grill also on the top skies.
Looking very scale and with authority styles.

Lately since last week,
I have been getting on the LAMA control or in the
on the pilot in command seat. I was very suprise,,,
that I have got a ease to fly this helicopter with a scale rotorhead 3 blades. No satbilisation system use for my learning. Wow,,, it hover like a pussy cat,,, a real dream to be flying hover procedures exercises now,, a real dream come that came alive betwen my fiingers and head,,, he,he...

So I have made about 40mind hovering time exercises till now,,, and will keep doing so till I am very comfortable to make my first foward flight. My mentor instructor is very impress about my doing and flying till now. He as gave ma a great test hovering result,,, (100%) on the hovering and stabilisation of the LAMA and the holdpoint fix exercises.

I have started to do side ways hovering using rudder, aileron and cyclic very easely,,, and no stress are a issue for me till now. I guess flying at time on the real helicopters get's you comfortable while flying the RC world heli's...

Glade that I am doing very good on the learning.
Will be doing photoshoot soon,,, and will inplant in a fiew days the lights system with NAV, and instruments palnel light, and stobes. We will be using 2 types of lights system's,,, and will join them together as electronic's goes.

As one as the great LED strong lights,, and the other light system as the strobes system devise with 3 un-sychronize.
So I can make my strobes work solo and at the sychoro I wish them to be flashing.

Till now,,, a pure joy this LAMA I have re-design.
Anyone interested in that Hirobo LAMA product,,,
GO for it,,, you will have aball and you will make everone stop flying at the flying fiels club that's for shure,,, he,he...

No photos yet,, will come in proper time with a new series of the complet LAMA SA-315B soon ...

Next week is the vacation for 3 weeks. My buddy mentor as the same vacation date. But He will have to do some duty on the famely house befort winter. Hope we still can fly alote of time together for the next fiew weeks.

Re: LAMA SA-315B
Yesterday,
Got that Bell Ranger (hockey player) helicopter passing over my heliport again. He always do the same routine flying path while in my flying zone area.

Shure he did notice my helipad from the air. As he was more into a slow foward flight this time while passing over my heliport homebase.

Did my primer and white paint on my NEW stab fin's yesterday. It as done a great result on them. Will inplant the fin's today with silicon and get them straight and fix properly.

Then today,
will do the fix on the heat protector brass part and fix them also with silicon. Also will fix the exaust end pipe donut made of brass into proper hold.

Then will be the time for the canopy color finish later on.
That will come foward in the next couple day's ...

Re: LAMA SA-315B
Okay,
got those stab fin's approaved yesterday by my helicopter buddy mentor.

So will inplant them permanent fix over the old one that will remain fix now. And will also do some painting white color on them. Will be apply on them as stiker the Canadian Coast Guard LOGO. It will look very stylish.

After that today,
I will fix permanent the turbine heat brass protector cover and the exaust donut at the end of the pipe. Then it will be the time to fix the floor in the canopy interior, Instrument panel, seat's and color over them.

Should be ready for next week,
so me buddy mentor can have the LAMA back to is homebase to fix the lights system we have received this week. I will have 2 white strobes, one beacon strobe, NAV light (red and green) one landing light underbelly, and one interior instruments panel light inplant also.

All should be ready for our vacation on the September 15th.
Then it will be flying , flying, flying. This project would have take a year to complet. Don't get me ron here.

You can complet this model in less times,,, for my part,
I wanted to take the proper time to create new design for the LAMA SA-315B. That is why it took me so long to complet.

Now in a fiew day's, I'll have my LAMA complet, and my private heliport facilities ready for me to enjoy a flying LAMA SA-315B CoastGuard all around the comfort of my home estate back yeard on the country side ...

This week,
Got the X hockey player from Le Canadian de Montreal
(Guy Lafleur) flying his Jet Ranger over my private heliport homebase facilities ...

I'll get to him with a invitation to come over for a visite
in a soon future. The Bell Ranger helicopter he own's as a superb color scheme that we see from very far. Can't miss him when he pass by over my place.

Re: LAMA SA-315B
Hi all,
been on the LAMA detail's for the last fiew day's.

Work out a new UHF tailboom plate with a new color and design for now. Done and been inplant in position. Super Sharp. But the final one is in progress.
As it will be hold in one part piece with the UHF antena included. Coming soon!

The weight of that plate is lower now.

Yesterday,
did get the underbelly alumi transport cages out to my paintshop private facility. Got them spray with a white primer sealer with 2 coats. Then apply 2 coats of red on them. Now the underbelly transport cages are done and attach back to the LAMA. Wow, they look just wonderfull as red now.

Some more to do on the turbine, and a new design stab fin's is on the making. The new fin's will be so much better, and as the weight will be also liter on them. And the canopy will be re-design also... All to come, but got my idea straight now.

Now,looking at all those small detail's I can do for the next fiew day's ...

Maybe tomorow will do a other foward test on the LAMA
with my mentor instructor at out private field club out in the country. Will see how the wind goes tomorow. As it is
showing pretty gusty wind during the day hours.

Maybe will do the test in the evening as the wind dies down a little at that time of the day. Will see...

Battery for the receiver and lights system should be in by friday. Will got to pick-up on saturday morning. As maybe friday too will be all day at the club with my mentor and his 355N and my 315B ...

Re: LAMA SA-315B
Yesterday,
got to finish the paint on the pylon's.
White and red stripes have been paint on.

Looks amazing and will add some more detail's to them.
Will be shown soon...

I just got a notice from my mentor buddy that works on my LAMA. He as tested the charger to charge one of my brand new batteries. The charger is not working properly. Will have to go back to the hobbystore to change it.
Not today,,, maybe tomorow or saturday morning ...

Hope after that,,, I get no more SNAG"S issues ...
Those thing's happen my mentor say. Okay, I get that ...

Anyway,
I don't plan to fly it till my mentor vacation
date that are begining on the 12 of september.

Re: LAMA SA-315B
Yesterday,
got some stuff from the hobbystore delivery order.

Blades 520mm
Charger
Was expecting the lights system.
My hobbystore owner was not shure about the one we need
for the LAMA. Maybe will change the lights system type now.

My mnetor buddy as one in mind.
Will get it on a later day's via internet.

Till now,
our schedules is kind of hard to be fit into the hobby now.
Next time down schedule to test foward flight with new setting will maybe be next week-end ...

Batteries are order since last week and should arrive by the begining of september at my mentor homebase facility.

PS: I have got my self some very high and fine pylons of
7fts and more. The have a ground surface plate to pin them down to the ground and will be use for practice exercises
in the future. Will use them even in the winter time.

Today,
will start to sand them off a little and then apply a white paint color and then later apply red horizontal stripes
on them. As soon as they are finish,, I'll post them in
so all can view them.

Pretty amazing what I will come up with in final results...

Re: LAMA SA-315B
I'm shure proud of it..
As I am proud of my acomplishment done from the past fiew months. She shure is something Buddies,, shure is...

Just cant wait now till she come back to her Capt,,, lol...
Her commander I should say,,, he,he...

Well Paul as received the stikers yesterday.
A fiew extra's detail's on the LAMA is making her looking awesome. She shure looking good now.

Her assignment will be the North Canada Artic region for duty. In a imaginary state of mind wise that is. As it will Hover from a Canadian CoastGuard ship and a wood winter platform helipad in the glacier region.

Will probably do this fall, a LARGE helipad platform made of trees for winter behind our home backyard estate field of (1/2 miles free flying zone area). It will be like the real wood platform they use in the Suisse Alpes region next to the Glacier there. I will probably keep it ourside and inplant into the ground all winter.

Will look for that wood trees parts in the wood this fall whille all colors are out for our eyes to enjoy. Should be cool to fly at time this winter with my LAMA on a calm winter morning while their is deadwind time and with all that snow that we have here in winter time season.

Here is the LAMA with her CoastGuard look:
Enjoy Buddies!!!

Ps: Soon, I'll be showing her (LIVE) to my buddy Chief Engineer at Candians Helicopters Limited homebase...

Should be a great morning break while coffee & Donuts sharing over there. Who knows, maybe our Operation director will come down from is office to join us. Shure hope so,, he,he... I'll let you know later the date I'll be visiting with the LAMA ...

Re: LAMA SA-315B
Well,

My mentor as finish the setting with the new main rotorhead gear. Fit fine, work fine, and the test hover flight from last eveningat Paul home was a succes. It HOVER and level off by it self on a hand off process. We Meen, she fly stable with hand off control.

So Paul as told me I could now HOVER at my homebase Heliport AirStation soon now with out any problem. As she is sooooooooo stable now.

Cool!

So now if the weather permitted,,
will fly her on a foward flight this week-end...

I will do the canopy finish, as soon as I have the LAMA back home. Should be very soon.

Paul Saying:

Here are a couple shots of the cockpit with the batteries installed. Perfect fit and CG is right on ,no dead weight anywhere.
